Brothers/Sisters:

Megan Ross, an Evanston resident, has approached our local in need of assistance for her cousin, FDNY firefighter Roy Chelsen. Roy worked at Engine 28 Ladder 11 for 22 yrs. He was in the WTC collapse on 9/11 and actually saved 6 brother firefighters during the incident. As a direct result of his work at ground zero he has been stricken with multiple myleoma - a cancer of the blood that is rare, and he needs a bone marrow transplant but can't find a donor. Almost all firefighters are enrolled in the national bone marrow registry but we need as many people as possible to find a match.

Also: If you can not make the Sunday date, the Chelsen family will be holding another drive the day before: Saturday, November 21^st at Lincoln Park Zoo (Tadpole Room beneath Park Place Café) from 0930-15300hrs.

Congratulations to Aldermen Ann Rainey, Cheryl Wollin, & Elizabeth
Tisdahl on the completion of the International Association of Fire Fighters
Fire Ops 101 held in Chicago on October 20, 2007.

Alderman Liz Tisdahl donned protective gear and climbed an Ariel ladder, used hose lines,
went through a simulated fire situation, and enjoyed a hands on fire experience.

2007 Skokie Fire Fighters Bowling Tournament (Evanston Members
with a stray from Chicago FD in the back row!)

Congrats to the Local 742 Pony League team who came away with the
Pony League championship on Sunday. It was a great game, solid hitting,
pitching and defense. Coached by Local 742 Member Greg Klaiber.

The pictures above are of the Thanksgiving baskets (turkey and all the fixings)
purchased with union funds to feed 12 local families through Family
Focus. The baskets were greatly appreciated. I would like to thank Tim
Gobat, PJ Casey, my wife Sandee and all the guys at station 1 - shift 2
for all their help putting the baskets together.
